Update on some Upgrades

Like that name?

Hey everyone. It's been quite awhile since the last time I wrote a blog and this just seemed like an appropiate time to write one. I appologize for my absense in pratically everything lately. I'm experiencing some technical and personal issues. One being my limited internet is kinda being run through pretty quickly for some reason and the other is my lack of time due to college and work and stuff. First thing I'd like to say is, Happy Thanksgiving. Sorry for not writing a blog specifically on the day of, but whatever. :P

Alright so let's get down to business. I recently found this out. >LINK< And let me just say that that is fantastic. I can't thank you guys enough! The site has been up for awhile and for it to reach those rankings is unthinkable to me. So, for Christmas, I recently purchased the domain to this site. (I think, the kinks are still being worked out) So this means that those ads will (eventually) be gone and the bandwidth is increased. How much has it increased? About 25 gigs. Yeah, awesome. It used to be half a gig. With all this data to work with, I will be doing some (maybe) heavy renovations to the site over the next couple weeks probably. So what does this mean? Well, first off I think I'll be making some more page wallpapers. They've been the same for awhile now. Then I'll be changing the template. It's not too drastic of a change from the look of it, but I figured I'd just give some sort of warning. Next, I might be finding or making some widgets in Flash to be added in here. Just some little cutsy navigation ones and perhaps an MP3 player one.

Next off, and you may not even believe this, but cable has FINALLY been run through my area. For those of you not in the know (and at this point, anyone who has been paying the slightest amount of attention at this point should know) I have been stuck using Verizons crappy little portable modems for (limited) internet usage. This will make things so much easier for me and allow me to get so much more stuff done. Maybe. Truth be told, the wire has been run through our area but not quite the service. Getting there though. Slowly but surely. Heh.

I'm gonna blend two topics together here. "A Just Endeavor" and Cackletta's Return". For AJE, I actually wanted to write the next blog for this after I made all protagonist's sprites. But I suppose this'll do for now.

Lance's sprite I'm still kinda messing around with, but Scarla's is pretty much as close to done as it's gonna get. I should probably mention that these are the battle sprites and not the overworld sprites. So yeah, these are two of the four protagonists that are played as. Ironically, Vid and I are still working out some stuff on the Main MAIN character. :P So, yeah. Once I complete a single sprite for each main, expect another blog. Also, since I have all this bandwidth to throw around, a page dedicated to A Just Endeavor will be made after Vid and finalize a ton of stuff. Moving on to CR, regrettably, I haven't done squat on it since the first part of Touhou: BoP. I've been kinda busy with that stuff ^. I do plan on starting on the first episode once my first semester ends around the middle of this month. So expect something maybe around the beginning of January schedule providing.

Alright that's all I have to say for now. Until then:

And Happy Holidays.

Battlefield of Prayers Chapter 1 and Stuff

Well, hello everyone! I apologize for my absence lately, but I've been pretty busy with a multitude of things. First off, this thing is finally done.

Battlefield of Prayers

That's the link to the youtube version. In my opinion, if it's watched in one of the two HD settings, it's the smoothest of the 3 I uploaded to various other sites. So an opinion on that would be dandy. I did work pretty hard on it after all... Anyway, as an added bonus, here's all (most) of the effects I used in it: Link The pack includes movement blurs, hits, explosions, etc. So as the "Readme" in it says, go wild. :P

Second thing I'd like to adress is Vid and I's game, "A Just Endeavor". We are slowly but surely putting key plots together and I am building numerous effects, character sprites, and songs for it. In fact I'd like to post a few songs here to get some outside opinions.

Lastly, anybody else enjoying the living hell out Pokemon X and Y? I beat it and absolutely loved it! Although like last generation, I was sorely dissapointed with the cries. :/ But whatever, nothing's perfect.

I got nothing else to say. Give me your thoughts in the comment section and have a nice day. :P Later.

End of Summer, End of Freedom

First off, I'd like to apologize for not updating on here for a little while. I've been somewhat busy lately doing pretty much the same thing. I just got this week off from work so I figured I'd post thise little tid bit of a blog. I also start college after Labor Day, so there's a bit of reality check going on too. Anyway, as usual I'll be dividing this blog up into sections.

First up, Flash animations. To be honest, not much has been going on with this lately. I have been doing it a little off and on, but not much to be too proud of. I would show you what I have made, but the animation is so near to being complete that the credit sequence has already been made up and animated out. If you watch it now, you won't have any reason to watch it when it's complete. -FT-' Since I have this week off, I should be able to get it done and posted by the end of this week. (Hopefully, but no promises.)

Second, we have the game Vidzy and I have been working on. And I'm proud to say we finally have an official title made up. The name we've decided to go with is "A Just Endeavor". We like it and hope you do too. Unfortunately in your opinion possibly, this is what has been taking up a lot of my free time. I've had to learn a lot about spriting, music composition, and action scripting. To show i'm not being lazy, here's 2 songs i've made/ are working on:

If you're interested in our progress, Vid posts concept art every once and while here.

Third, I recently splurged on Wacom Bamboo Create. If you don't know what that is, it's basically a drawing tablet for computers. So I've been touching up my drawing skills a little with. Hopefully with the training I'll be receiving in college, I'll be able to draw y'know, semi-decently.

Fourth, Otakon...

mmmmm 'nuff said.

Alright, that's all I got. If you're still on vacation, enjoy the rest of your break. If you started school already, well then good luck to you sir or madame. Have a good one, Seeya.

An Update Because it's Been a While

Epic Title

What's up guys? It's been it seriously long time since I last wrote a news/blog thing. I started my full time job a month or so ago and that's been eating up a lot of my time. Honestly, about the same amount of time as school. But I'm complaining as there's nothing to complain about.

That being said, quite a bit has happened since my last thingy. Since I have a pretty decent job now, I've been getting paid quite a bit which made me want to splurge on a Wii U. So I have that now. I honestly have no idea how to add people as friends on it though. I've gotten myself wi-if and 5 extra gigs of data (making a grand total of 10) to use over the interwebs. But don't expect me to use Live or Nintendo Wifi or anything as I still like to be cautious with what I'm doing data wise.

Flash wise i've being next to nothing tbh and I'll explain why later. BoP is on the verge of being complete, but I'm having trouble executing a scene properly and epicly. Hopefully I'll be getting it done relatively soon though so I can start back up on CR, which by the way, I'll be restarting on. After working on the first part of BoP for like the past 5 months, I've noticed my style has changed way too much for me to continue working on what I had before. I apologize if this disappoints anybody (and I honestly don't know why it would) But I'm doing it more for me than anything. It's something made specifically for entertainment purposes anyway.

Next up, Vid and I have recently begun making a game (This is why flash production is so low if you haven't caught on) You may have noticed all the crap Vid and I have been posting and deleting in the "Artwork" section. Well this is what all of that is for. I won't spoil what happens in it, but the game will be an RPG taking place in modern day. I've been put in charge of all the graphics (sprites, BGs, Effects, etc), Programming (likely the part that'll be the most annoying) and sound generation (BGM and sound effects if possible). Vid's doing the plot (which btw, is awesome so far) and the character design (putting creative drawing skills to the test). Together we'll have one hell of game made, if said day ever comes. Games take a lot of energy, effort, and time to make. Especially if everything is being done from scratch which is what we're doing. So I wouldn't expect it, honestly, this year.

Since I'm in charge of the soundtrack to said game with no title yet, I've been using FL Studio a lot. I've actually upgraded from FL9 to FL11 completely for free! Image-Line is awesome... If possibly I'll make an entire album to be downloaded if asked enough. The series will have most genres of music from Death Metal to Dubstep to Trance. I've been meaning to do something useful with my quitar lessons anyway. And thankfully I already have the equipment to do so.

And lastly, this week I'll be out camping. So for those who chat with me regularly, this probably won't make a difference as I'll likely still be on everyday anyway due to my portable internet device. Another tid-bit of info I don't feel like making another paragraph for is that I'll be attending this years Otakon. (If you don't know what that is, just google search it) I'll be going as maybe L from Death Note as I've been told I look like him.

Well that's all I got. Something to think about though, Summer is technically half-way over. Yeah, let that sink in :P Anyway, as I said before, that's all I got. Cya later~

Flipnote Hatena Apocalypse

Posted by Shadow624 on May 31, 2013 at 11:45 AM Comments comments (13)

Well today, Flipnote Hatena has officially been shut down. Kinda sucks, I wanted to get all my statistics before it closed. I was expecting it to end at the end of the day today rather than it end the end of yesturday. I'm sad to see it go, I truely am. I had some fun and hectic times on that website. In honor of the site, I made a new banner. I was inspired to make it after I posted all my animations to youtube (which btw, thank god I did yesturday).

That being said, school is pretty much out for me. With Hatena gone, I'll be in the sites chat regularly from now on. I am still working on the first part of BoP and then after that I'll be restarting on CR. Also, not sure if I'll have the chance to say it when it happens or not but, after I graduate I'll be working a full time summer job. I have no idea what the schedule is for that at the moment so I really have nothing to go on :/.

Anyways, that's all I have to say, have a great summer!
